Lerner Garden of the Five Senses
In Boothbay, Maine at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Lerner Garden of the Five Senses gives the visually impaired and others with physical disabilities the opportunity to utilize their senses to enjoy the outdoors. Cobblestone pathways have a continuous striker stone bordering the path to help the visually impaired navigate the garden. Fragrant flowers and herbs surround benches while raised garden beds devoted to taste hold herbs, fruit, vegetables and edible flowers for visitors to try. A fountain and labyrinth provide a tactile experience.
